M'SIA EXPECTS DOMESTIC INVESTMENTS TO RISE TO 40 PCT FROM 30 PCT LAST YEAR
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Domestic investments are expected to increase to 40 per cent this year from 30 per cent last year, says Malaysia's International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed.
To achieve the target, he said, his ministry would launch more frequent
promotions and introduce attractive packages to woo domestic investments besides
providing conducive environment for businesses.
Last year, nearly 70 per cent investments approved by Malaysian
Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) were foreign investments, he said.
"We want to increase domestic investments this year to strike a balance
between domestic and foreign investments," he told reporters after addressing
his ministry staff at the monthly assembly Friday.
