Russia, Armenian police must improve information exchange -minister
YEREVAN, June 21 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's Interior Ministry and Armenian police should improve information exchange between units combating regional crimes, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev stated on Friday, summing up the session the joint board of the law-enforcement bodies of the two countries.
Nurgaliyev underlined that this work should be regular and systemic.
"To secure faster solutions of issues, it is necessity to use direct
contacts between units more often, not just the capabilities of the
Interpol or the Bureau for coordinating the fight against organized
crime," the minister noted.
In general, one may talk about positive dynamics in the development of
interaction between Russia's Interior Ministry and Armenian police in
investigating and solving inter-regional crimes, committed on the
territories of the two states.
"We adjust our positions in the course of session of joint boards, and
also hold regular meetings between the leadership of departmental
services," the Russian official underlined.
In addition, law-enforcement agents of the two countries regularly
take part in joint events and special operations, including those
envisioned by the inter-state program of joint measures to combat crime in 2008-2010.
