BPEN TO HOLD IN-STORE PROMOTIONS IN FOUR COUNTRIES
Jakarta, Feb 6 (ANTARA) - The National Agency for Export Development (BPEN) will organize in-store promotion campaigns in four countries this year, its chief said.
"In April, we will cooperate with Harolds in London and later with Isetan in Japan (in organizing the campaigns). With whom we will cooperate in the two other countries has not yet been decided," Hesty Indah Kresnarini said here on Friday.
Hesty said the program was part of efforts to introduce Indonesian products to foreign buyers.
"If the results are good it means that (foreign buyers) like our products," she said.
Earlier, in 2008, BPEN also cooperated with a number of large modern retailers in Europe, including Carrefour, DelHeiz, and Harvey's Nickle in organizing similar campaigns. At least 15 Indonesian companies took part in the event.
Among the commodities to be included in this year's in-store promotion are spices, coffee, leather products, batik, handicraft goods and foods.
"The concept of this year's in-store promotion program is still being discussed so we do not as yet know how many companies will take part in the program," she said.
She said not only BPEN but Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs) abroad also had organized in-store promotion campaigns.
