INDONESIA PROVIDES IMMIGRATION ON BOARD SERVICE TO JAPANESE TOURISTS

Jakarta, Feb 6 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government, in this case Garuda Indonesia, provides a facility to Japanese tourists by introducing an immigration on board service.

"The Indonesian embassy in Tokyo has started offering the immigration on board service to Japanese tourists as of February 1, 2010," Indonesian ambassador to Japan Jusuf Anwar said in Jakarta Saturday.

The facility is aimed at increasing the number of Japanese tourists to Indonesia, he said.

The facility, which covers the provision of visa on arrival for 30 days at a cost of 25 US dollars, and can be extended for another 30 days, is provided during Tokyo-Denpasar and Tokyo-Jakarta flights.

Jusuf said the number of Japanese tourists to Indonesia had reached 405,195, the fourth biggest after those from Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, from the total of 5,698,311 foreign tourists in 2009.***
