ISI CONSIDERING COOPERATION WITH MUSEUMS IN DENMARK
Denpasar, Indonesia, Feb 6 (ANTARA) - The board of the Indonesian Institute of Art in Denpasar during the visit of its team to Copenhagen, Denmark, will explore cooperation prospects with a number of museums in that country.
"The cooperation is expected to produce breakthroughs for the Fine Arts and Design Faculty to compete in the international arena," Rector of ISI Denpasar Prof Dr I Wayan Rai S said in a press statement here Saturday.
Rai who led the ISI art team in an international music festival in Copenhagen said a program which may be developed is holding an international exhibition by using the museums in Denmark.
"But to be able to join the international exhibition, Bali's artists, especially those of the ISI, need to have a uniqueness, identity and specialty in their works," he said.
"This event involves more than 100 world class musicians and dancers uniting many nations by way of music. They are collaborating with their counterparts from America, Europe, Africa and some other Asian countries," he said.
Besides showing their identity as representatives from Asia, the ISI team may also learn to adopt western musical concepts which their brilliant ideas and thoughts.
The group led by the Denpasar ISI ector left the country on January 27, and be back in Indonesia on February 9, 2010.***
