POLICE SUMMON ADI TJONDRO FOR QUESTIONING

Jakarta, Feb 6 (ANTARA) - Police hope George Yunus Adi Chondro will meet their summons for questioning as a suspect on Monday, the chief of the South Jakarta police resort, Senior Commissioner Gatot Edy Pramono said.

"I hope, Adi Chondro will come on Monday for questioning," he said to ANTARA on Saturday evening.

He said George was suspected of having committed an unpleasant act as defined in Article 335 of the Penal Code and light torture as meant in the code's Article 352 against another person.

George was reported to the police by the chief editor of Jurnal Nasional, Ramadhan Pohan, on December 30 last year for having allegedly maligned and tortured him.

Ramadhan said he was tortured by George at the launching of George's book "Gurita Cikeas".

In the book, George said that Ramadhan had received part of the bailout funds given to Bank Century which Ramadhan had denied.

Asked if George would be arrested, Gatot said "we will question him first before deciding to take further action." ***
