KIEV, February 8 (Itar-Tass) -- The press center of presidential

.Ukraine CEC receives no reports on blatant violations.
KIEV, February 8 (Itar-Tass) -- The Ukrainian Central Election
Commission (CEC) did not receive any reports about the violations that
could affect drastically the election results, a CEC member Mikhail
Okhendovsky said on Sunday night. Meanwhile, he does not rule out that
"the losing side will make some statements about the falsification of the
election results."
"This is specific for Ukraine," the CEC member said. He believes that
the losing candidate should admit the defeat. This will show that the
civil society has formed in Ukraine and the loser demonstrates respect to
the expression of will.
Okhendvosky stressed that the positive assessments given by most
international observer missions at the first round of the presidential
elections turned out to be very important. "They contributed mainly to the
fact that the question of massive falsifications was not raised after
January 17," he said, recalling that no candidate in the first round had
not filed an official plea against the election results. Meanwhile, he
reiterated that he does not rule out that "the losing side will try to
create the illusion of falsifications."
Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian CEC Andrei Magera confirmed to
Itar-Tass that on the February 7 election day several incidents were
reported "with the indicators that can be considered as the agitation in
favor of a candidate or the agitation on behalf of a candidate, or some
provocative acts." "Only the law enforcement agencies can tackle this
issue," Magera said. He confirmed that such violations were reported in
Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk and other cities.
