CANADA's BOMBARDIER INTRODUCES NEW PLANE TO RI
Jakarta, Feb 8 (ANTARA) - Canadian aerospace company Bombardier on Monday introduced a new turbo plane called Dash 8-Q400 NextGen to Indonesia in a demonstration at Jakarta's Halim Perdana Kusuma airport.
"Canada's aircraft industry has expanded during the past few years. We expect to see some of this aircraft flying around over Indonesian territory soon," Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mackenzie Clugston, said during a demonstration flight by a Dash 8-Q400 NextGen over Halim Perdana Kususma airport.
Clugston said the new Bombardier product with a 70-80 seat capacity was well suited for cruising over small islands and remote areas in Indonesia.
Bombardier's spokesperson, Bert Cruicshank, said Dash8-Q400 offers a comfortable interior atmosphere with bigger luggage space that can fit trolleys, wider side windows and soft lighting system which will reduce the aircraft's weight and maintenance costs.
Bombardier Aerospace, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, is one of the world's leading aircraft maker. The company also produces a regional jet commuter aircraft called Global Express, Challenger, Learjet aircraft and a water-bomber plane CL-415.
