PYONGYANG, February 9 (Itar-Tass) - The government and people of North
Korea "come out in favour of further consolidation and development of
traditionally friendly bilateral relations with Russia, the Rodong Sinmun
newspaper wrote on Tuesday, stressing that the two people now understand
each other better.
In an article devoted to the tenth anniversary of the treaty on
friendship, good-neighbourly relations and cooperation between North Korea
and Russia, the leading North Korean newspaper stressed that judging by
the consistent strengthening of bilateral relations, this fundamental
bilateral agreement "fully meets the interests of two neighbouring states
and their peoples, who have begun to understand each other better".
The paper noted that over the recent time comprehensive and
good-neighbourly ties between North Korea and Russia have got a boost in
the political, economic, scientific, technological, cultural and other
spheres.
The Korean people follow the economic development of the neighbouring
state and "wish the Russian people more success in all affairs," the
newspaper emphasized.
