Japan's Hokkaido Bank inks cooperation deal with Sakhalin Reg govt.

VLADIOVOSTOK, February 9 (Itar-Tass) - Japan's Hokkaido Bank on
Tuesday signed a cooperation accord with the Sakhalin Region's government
to fund projects co-owned by Japanese companies.
"We regard the presence of a bank, so authoritative in financial
circles, in our region as a good factor for economic development of both
Sakhalin and Hokkaido," Sakhalin Region Governor Alexander Khoroshavin
said having signed the document.
According to Khoroshavin, Japanese companies could take part in the
Gorny Vozdukh (Mountain Air) ski resort project and the Uglegorsky energy
project.
The Vice-Governor of Hokkaido Prefecture, Yoji Takahara, who attended
the signing of the document, and Hokkaido Bank President Yoshihiro
Sekihachi expressed the hope for the fruitful cooperation with the
Sakhalin Region and for new mutually beneficial projects.
