RRussia builds substation to supply power to facilities of 2012 summit.

VLADIVOSTOK, February 10 (Itar-Tass) - Russia has launched
construction of an electric power substation on the Island of Russky to
ensure power supply to facilities of the 2012 APEC summit. At present,
preparations for the construction of the substation are being made.
The
construction site is being cleared of trees, and its the ground is being
leveled, the press service of the federal grid operator FSK UES company
told Itar-Tass.
The new substation will be provided with the most modern equipment
that meets the standards of stable and safe operation of the substation.
The new substation will be commissioned in December, 2011. It will ensure
stable power supply to consumers on the Russky and Popov islands, where
the population is expected to grow in the near future to 100,000.
This year the FSK UES will begin construction of three more power
substations and four power transmission lines with a capacity of 220
kilowatt and the overall length of more than 150 kilometers. The
construction of the facilities for the 2012 APEC summit is in full swing,
the FSK UES press service said.
