Parliament organizes a workshop on amendments on law of children
SANA'A, June 23 (Saba) - The Parliament organized a two-day workshop on amendments on the law of children rights in cooperation with Shima Network supported by the UNICEF, Oxfam and Swedish Organization for Children Care.
In the opening session of the workshop on Sunday, Yahya al-Rae'e, Speaker of Parliament delivered a speech in which he said that the children care means care for present and future of the nation, highlighting efforts exerted by Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and friendly organizations to care about rights of
children.
He wished good luck for the workshop to discuss issues associated with means of enhancing children rights, saying that recommendations of the workshop would receive concern of the parliament.
For their parts, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amt al-Razaq Homaid and Minister of Endowments and Guidance Hamoud al-Hitar affirmed importance of the amendments to create good legal environment to protect children.
They highlighted the amendments , saying that such amendments meet with national law and international laws of children rights that were ratified by Yemen.
