DOZENS OF HOUSES HEAVILY DAMAGED BY TYPHOON IN INDONESIA

Lebak, Indonesia, Feb 11 (ANTARA) - A total of 22 houses and three Islamic boarding schools as well as a mosque in Malingping subdistrict, Lebak regency, Banten province, Indonesia, were seriously damaged by a typhoon Thursday afternoon.

"The typhoon was accompanied by lightnings and strong wirlwinds, destroying houses and injuring residents," Malingping subdistrict chief, Ade Sutiana said in Rangkasbitung Thursday night.

He said the damaged houses were located in Rahong village, Malingping Selatan, and in Sukaraja village a house collapsed after lightning struck, but nobody was hurt.

But several residents had to be rushed to a local hospital for their injuries caused by falling debris.
