Yanukovich calls for friendly & pragmatic relations with Russia.

MOSCOW, February 14 (Itar-Tass) - Viktor Yanukovich, the winner of the
recent presidential elections in Ukraine, believes relations between
Russia and Ukraine should be friendly and pragmatic.
"Our relations should, above all, be friendly and pragmatic. We are
going to return them to the format of historical relations between the
Ukrainian and Russian peoples," Yanukovich said in an interview with
Yevgeny Revenko, the anchorman of the Russian weekly TV new program 'Vesti
Nedeli'.
Speaking about Ukraine's relations with NATO, Yanukovich said that at
the moment their format was determined and was not going to be expanded.
"Within this format Ukraine will build its relations with NATO. We've
given a clear answer to the question of Ukraine's joining NATO. Should it
arise, it will be solved at the national referendum," Yanukovich said in
his interview.
