Tehran waiting for official response to its package
Tehran, June 24, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Monday that Iran is waiting for an official response to its proposed package.
Talking to reporters, he said, "Mr Solana has agreed with the general views of the package, but we are waiting for an official response from them."
"We have mentioned several axes in our package and believe that the
best ground for resumption of negotiations is emphasis on common
points shared by the two packages. This was confirmed by both sides," Hosseini reiterated.
Asked whether pressures would make Tehran leave the NPT, he said,
"Tehran is making every effort to observe Non-Proliferation Treaty and continues with close cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency.
We will fulfill our commitments in this respect."
Both Iran and Europe enjoy various potentials for establishment of
global security and stability, he said, stressing that negotiations
prepares good opportunity for such cooperation.
He urged the two sides not to miss such a valuable opportunity.
