RF, India to sign agrmnt on peaceful use of atomic energy.

NEW DELHI, February 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia and India will sign an
agreement in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy next month,
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin said on Monday. Sobyanin is
staying on a two-day working visit to the Indian capital.

"At present, an agreement in the field of peaceful use of atomic
energy has been drafted. I'm confident it will be signed during a visit of
Vladimir Putin to India," he said. The Russian prime minister's visit to
New Delhi is scheduled for next month.
According to Sobyanin, the document is "a basic agreement which will
make it possible to intensify cooperation in this perspective sphere."
The deputy prime minister also said that Moscow and New Delhi will
sign a contract on the construction of the 3rd and 4th power units at the
Kudankuam NPP in India's south which is being built according to Russian
technologies.
According to Sobyanin, the development in the field of nuclear energy
for India is one of the main tasks. "Russia is ready to render it
assistance in this," he stressed.
