DENPASAR POLICE PROBING GERMAN CITIZEN'S DEATH
Denpasar, Bali, Feb 16 (ANTARA) - Local police are intensively investigating the death of a German citizen identified as Mario Arnold (43) whose decomposed body was found in a car parked in a cluster of bushes in the Serangan area, south Denpasar.
"We are still conducting an investigation in the field, so we connot yet say anything about the cause of Mario Arnold's death," chief of the local police, Adjunct Commissioner Gede Ganefo, said here on Tuesday.
The car was found in Serangan village, South Denpasar, Bali, Ganefo said, adding that police had questioned several witnesses in an effort to establish whether Arnold's death was caused by foul play or an illness.
"We have questioned many witnesses, but we have yet to establish the cause of his death," Gede said.
The police were also cooperating with the German consulate in Denpasar in its efforts to uncover how Arnold, a frequent visitor to Bali, had died.
Mario Arnold's body was found in decomposed condition in a car parked in bushes in Serangan village, about 15 kilometers south of Denpasar's city center early last week.
From a number of objects found in his Jimny car with license plate number DK-683-Q, police had concluded that Arnold was a German tourist.
In his driver's license issued by the Lombok Barat police on May 21, 2008, Arnold Mario's address was given as Jalan Raya Senggigi Batu Layar, Lombok Barat, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
