Certain major powers sent letter to IAEA on Iran

TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) -- The U.S., France and Russia have submitted a new letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding Iran, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Tuesday.
The letter contained a new nuclear proposal and Iran will consider any new idea or proposal given directly or indirectly via the IAEA, Mottaki said during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart in Tehran.
Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Director Ali-Akbar Salehi announced on Monday that Russia, France, and the United States have presented a new nuclear proposal to Iran. “Following Iran’s decision to produce 20 percent enriched uranium, we received a proposal from Russia, France, and the United States. We are currently studying this proposal and other proposals from various countries,” Salehi said.
Mottaki hits out at Clinton
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mottaki hit back against U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton who claimed on Monday that Iran is becoming a military dictatorship.
Mottaki said, “Those who have been the very symbol of military dictatorships over the past decades, since the Vietnam War until now, see everyone else in the same way.”
Mottaki accused Washington of practicing “modern deceit,” using “fake words” to disguise its intentions in the Persian Gulf region.
“We are regretful that the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tries to conceal facts about the stance of the U.S. administration through fake words.”
Expectations from Russia, China
On Tehran’s expectation from Beijing and Moscow in the new nuclear dispute with the West, he said it is clear to China that the U.S. plans to have an upper hand in Africa once it dominates the Middle East’s energy resources.
He also said Tehran would increase its cooperation with Moscow if it chooses a “correct and logical” stance toward Iran.
Our destiny rests upon Iran’s destiny
On Iran-Turkey relations, Mottaki said cooperation could help promote security in the region.
Mottaki quoted Davut Oglu as saying in an interview in Doha that consultations are necessary in all areas.
The Iranian foreign minister also said Turkey is familiar with Iran’s new nuclear progresses and can inform other countries of possible ambiguities that they might have about Iran’s nuclear activities.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davut Oglu also said, “We know that our destiny rests upon Iran’s destiny and (we) must have cooperation and talks with Iran and (we) do not want to see past problems in (Iran-Turkey) foreign relations again.”
He said Iran’s role in the region is highly important and Ankara is interested to help stabilize the region through constructive cooperation with Tehran.
