Iran loses to Japan in Asian Handball Championship
BEIRUT, Feb. 17 (MNA) -- Iran was defeated by Japan in the 2010 Asian Men’s Handball Championship on Monday night.
Iran, which had lost to Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the second round, was beaten 36-23 by Japan and failed to book a berth in the 2011 World Men’s Handball Championship in Sweden.
Iran is scheduled to play Lebanon on Wednesday to take fifth through eighth places. Iran defeated Lebanon 25-16 in the tournament’s first round.
