BRIMOB MEMBER ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY

Jakarta, Feb 15 (ANTARA) - Police have arrested a member of the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) for allegedly being involved in a robbery at a jewelry shop in Cibitung, Bekasi, West Java.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command's information center stated here on Monday RA was arrested in Bekasi.

The police have also arrested three other suspects known by their initials as M, S and MY in Lampung and Kuningan, West Java.

From the four suspects the police confiscated two organic Colt guns, a self-made gun, a car, cash money worth Rp54 million and five gold necklaces.

On January 25, 2010 around 10.15am the "Kings" jewelry shop at Pamor Market Block F1 in Wanasari, Cibitung, was robbed by 10 people who came by five motorbikes.

Four of the robbers entered the shop and held its owner, Lim Sun Po (37) and six other shop attendants.

They were held at gun point and therefore they did not fight back. The robbers then opened the safe containing gold jewelry and cash money worth Rp20 million and took some of the jewelry at the showcase.

Due to the robbery the victim lost around Rp720 million.

The robbers after taking the loots they immediately left by firing four times in the air to frighten the people.

The police were able to unveil the case following the fingerprint of one of the suspect left in the shop.

According to the police the fingerprint belongs to an ex-convict in the same case, arrested several years ago.

Based on it the police arrested one of the suspects hiding in Sumatra who made way for the arrest of the other suspects.
