FLOOD INUNDATES HUNDREDS OF HOUSES AT CINGISED
Bandung, Feb. 19 (ANTARA) - A flood inundated at least 300 houses in the Cingised area, Arcamanik sub district, Bandung city, on Friday.
The Cironggeng river overflowed following a dike burst on Wednesday and the flood hit Cingised, Mamat Rohmat (50), a resident of Cingised, said.
"It's for the first time that Cingised is inundated. The flood was triggered by a Cironggeng river dike burst," he said.
Incessant downpours worsened the inundation which reached a height of up to 80 centimeters, he said.
"Yesterday afternoon, it rained heavily. The Cingised river overflowed and flooded residential areas. Local residents were helpless and they took refuge on higher ground," he said.
