MALAYSIAN IMMIGRATION OFFICERS FALL FROM ROOF WHILE GOING AFTER TKIs
Kuala Lumpur, Feb 19 (ANTARA) - Although slightly injured after slipping from a roof, the raids by Malaysian immigration personnel against illegal foreign workers in Kampung Pasir Pantai, Kuala Lumpur, Friday, they still managed to catch two Indonesian illegal workers (TKIs).
Head of Putrajaya immigration operations unit Mohd Azmi Mohd Isa told Bernama Friday after being encircled, but refused to give up, two of the Malaysian immigration officers had to go up a roof to catch the illegal workers.
But in going after them, the two immigration officers fell and were lightly injured. But the two illegal workers were eventually caught by other immigration officers. Seven of the Indonesian workers were already in detention.
The Malaysian immigration also launched a similar raid in Bukit Kemuning, Shah Alam, at 3.30 a.m and caught 10 Indonesians, including five women without valid papers.
All are now being held in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport immigration detention center.
Starting on February 16, 2010, the Malaysian government launched large-scale raids against illegal workers.
