BOAT SINKS IN PELALAWAN, TWO STILL MISSING

Pekanbaru, Riau, Feb 19 (ANTARA) - A small motorized boat went down in Kampar river, Pelalawan regency, Riau province, Friday, and two of its passengers were still missing.

"A SAR team with the help of the local people are still searching for the missing passengers," Pelalawan police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Arie Rahman said here.

He said the incident took place when the boat with five people on board, including the captain, left Pelalawan subdistrict for Kampar river. The missing passengers were Suranieny and Sukoto, while the survivors were Mutaji, Bayu and the skipper Jhon Arijal.

The boat capsized in rough waters, but as the police station is far from the site of the accident, help came too late.
