TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) -- The 10th meeting of Economic Cooperation Organization's member states will be held in Tehran on March 4 to review the effect of the global financial crisis on member states.

The Iranian deputy economy minister said that coordination has been made with the Iranian Foreign Ministry and ECO secretariat as well as member states for attendance of high-level officials of the countries in this conference.

Behrouz Alishiri pointed out that in this meeting special workgroups will assess the effect of the crisis on financial and monetary sectors, capital market, economic institutes and the private sectors of ECO members.

He said that various ways will be examined to reduce the damage to minimum in current and future economic crises.

The Iranian official expressed hope that this conference will be able to accurately define the cause and effect of the global financial meltdown, and find stable and deep-rooted solutions for the expansion of economic ties in the region and bring to a halt the repercussion of the crisis on ECO member states.
