Tehran performance of Polish band cancelled
TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) -- The Tehran performance of a Polish band scheduled for February 16 at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) has been cancelled.
The Poland Embassy in Iran did not apply for visas for the band by the specified date so the performance had to be cancelled,” IAF director Majid Jozani said.
However, the performance was announced about a month ago on the IAF’s schedule.
The band’s plans were to accompany Iranian musicians for a performance of traditional music. The Polish musicians had arranged a master class for students earlier on the same day.
Tehran performances of Germany’s Wolfgang Haffner band scheduled for March 11 and 12 were also cancelled earlier this month.
The German Embassy in Tehran arranged the concert, which was canceled due to problems band members encountered in making their travel arrangements to Iran.
