TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (MNA) – The Azeri Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Sunday.

During the meeting Mottaki pointed to the important geo-strategic position of Iran and Azerbaijan in the region and called for a boost in bilateral cooperation.

The relationship between Iran and Azerbaijan is neither against a third country nor does it allow any country to interfere in their internal affairs, Mottaki added.

Asadov said Iran and Azerbaijan have close historical, cultural, and religious affinities and added that these similarities have paved the way for close cooperation.

He added that his visit to Tehran is aimed at expanding ties with Iran in all areas, particularly parliamentary relationship.
