WE WANT YOU TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MONGOLIA
(continuation)
The female head of the household leads the caravan. Baggage camels follow each other in single file, with children on the first, followed by camels carrying the furniture and dairy food. The roof-ring is carried on the last camel.
Before sunrise on the day of the move, everyone goes outside the ger to make an offering by sprinkling milk in honor of heaven. The roof-ring cannot to be removed from the buuri (site) until the loading has been otherwise completed. There is also a prohibition on the ger site: animals must not step on it, or it is believed the livestock will scatter and the baggage will fall off.
