Iran's parliament committee, SNSC to discuss Iran-UK ties
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) -- Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi said here on Monday that the committee plans to hold discussions with the Supreme National Security Council on Tehran-London diplomatic relations.
Boroujerdi also said Iran is studying the proposal presented by France, the United States, and Russia for supplying radioisotopes to Iran, and if the International Atomic Energy Agency meets its obligation to provide the higher enriched nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor, Iran will not insist on the continuation of uranium enrichment to the level of 20 percent purity.
“But if they fail to fulfill their obligations, we will continue on this path,” he emphasized.
About 850,000 Iranians are in urgent need of medicines produced by the Tehran research reactor and time is running out, so the IAEA should discharge its responsibility quickly, otherwise Iran will resolve this problem itself, he added.
Commenting on the deal to purchase the S-300 missile defense system from Russia, he said, “We expect Russia to totally fulfill its commitments in this regard, although we are not a nation that will face problems” attaining achievements if Russia reneges on its commitments.
