Iranian, Kazakh art academies sign agreement
TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) -- Directors of the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts and the Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday.
Zhurgenov Academy director Arystan Beik Mohammad and IAA director Ali Mo’allem Damghani met here in Tehran on Monday and discussed bilateral cooperation.
Mo’allem Damghani regarded the visit as a good step for future closer friendship between the two nations.
Arystan Beik Mohammad also expressed his satisfation upon visiting the country, and said, “Kazakhstan is a newly-established republic. We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary of independence. We are happy that Kazakhstan is now enjoying greater respect in the world.”
He later expressed hopes that the agreement would be the first step in collaboration by the two countries especially in the area of protecting cultural and historical sites.
“As soon as we entered your country Iran, we noticed the keen interest in protecting ancient historical sites. The individual who respects his past, will surely have a bright future,” said a Kazakh director who is visiting Tehran accompanied by a delegation of university professors and students.
He later handed books on art and painting in Kazakhstan in addition to a “The Golden Man” statuette to IAA director and said, “This statuette is the symbol of my country.”
IAA secretary Bahman Namvar-Motlaq also received a Kazakh musical instrument from Arystan Beik Mohammad.
