SEOUL, February 23 (Itar-Tass) - South Korea has sent a batch of
humanitarian cargo worth an equivalent of about 870,000 dollars to North
Korea, a spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Unification said on
Tuesday.
The spokesman said the batch includes antibacterial gel for hands,
which will help North Korea to fight against the spread of A/H1N1 flu. The
cargo was delivered in North Korea on 25 trucks across the land border
between the two Koreas in the northern sector of the delimitation zone in
the area of Kaesong, where the inter-Korean industrial park is situated.
The dispatch of 200,000 litres of gel was made after in December Seoul
sent in North Korea Tamiflu, the drug for flu treatment, worth 15 million
dollars. That was the first in almost two years humanitarian aid to North
Korea by the South Korean government.
