Iranian defense minister announces radar research priorities

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) – Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi declared research priorities in radar systems on Tuesday.

Scientists should give priority to research on the Microwave, Fuzzy, VHS, Passive systems and the stability of radar systems in various weather conditions, Vahidi told a conference on the radar systems technologies hosted by the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran.

Highlighting the importance of radars especially in electronic wars, he said precise plans should be devised to achieve national goals in this regard.

Radar systems can be used in air defense systems to trace hostile missiles and spy planes, he said. However, he added their uses are not restricted to air defense system and can be used in sea and land defense equipment as well.
