Sunni cleric expresses satisfaction over Rigi arrest
ZAHEDAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) -- Sunni cleric Molavi Abdolhamid Esmaeil Zehi, the Friday prayer leader of the Maki Mosque in Zahedan, has expressed satisfaction over the arrest of Jundullah terrorist group leader Abdolmalek Rigi.
“The news of Abdolmalek Rigi’s arrest made me happy and made the people of Sistan-Baluchestan Province happy. People in the province want peace, security, and unity,” he told the Mehr News Agency correspondent in Zahedan on Tuesday.
He made the comments a few hours after Iran’s security forces arrested Rigi on board a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Kyrgyzstan.
He said Rigi was an illiterate terrorist who created insecurity in the province.
None of the people in Sistan-Baluchestan Province want insecurity, banditry, or suicide attacks, he stated.
