VICE SPEAKER MEETS UKRAINE'S AMBASSADOR
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, Vice Speaker N.Enkhbold received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Yurii Kostenko.
The Vice Speaker congratulated Mr Kostenko on taking the post and wished him success. Enkhbold conveyed his congratulatory words to Viktor Yanukovich who has been recently elected as President of Ukraine.
The Vice Speaker expressed his confidence that the new leaders of Ukraine will attach great importance to traditional relations with Mongolia and will widen the friendly ties. He underlined a development of Mongolia-Ukraine relations since establishing the diplomatic relations and successful widening of cooperation in trade, economics, education and defense sectors.
Enkhbold mentioned that Mongolia is paying attention to its ties with Ukraine in culture, education and humanitarian sectors, and expressed a willingness to increase number of Mongolian students in Ukraine. Then Enkhbold said he will expand the inter-parliamentary cooperation and study an opportunity to establish a Mongolia-Ukraine parliamentary group at the State Great Khural.
The Ambassador thanked the Vice Speaker for the audience and expressed his willingness to make all efforts to widen the bilateral cooperation. Mr Kostenko emphasized an importance of bringing the cooperation into a new level and to intensify the ties in a scope of political and economic spheres.
Mr Kostenko appreciated the Vice Premier's suggestion to found the Mongolia-Ukraine parliamentary group at Mongolia's parliament. The Ambassador said his country wants to cooperate with Mongolia in the sectors of geology, machinery production and agriculture, because "the Mongolian mining production is boosting".
