Wave of sedition has started against Velayat Faqih: Iran's AE chairman

TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (MNA) – Assembly of Experts Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani warned on Thursday that an enormous surge of attacks has started against the Velayat Faqih (the rule of supreme jurisprudent).

Rafsanjani made the remarks during a ceremony as members of the Assembly of Experts visited the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini to renew their allegiance to Imam’s ideals.

“A great wave of sedition against the late Imam Khomeini, the revolution, Velayat Faqih, and the sacredness of the clergy has started, and we don’t see that this wave abate,” he explained.

Unfortunately, the young generation doesn’t know what a great miracle was performed by the late Imam with people’s support, he noted.

The Expediency Council chairman went on to say that “at that time, we observed the toughest suppression, and we thought nothing could overcome it and no one was hopeful and the absolute disappointment was prevalent,” but Imam started his movement and led the revolution until its victory.

Imam’s movement dealt a severe blow to the hegemonic powers that is why they are seeking to take revenge on the revolution, he said.

The veteran enemies of the revolution try to attribute any problem to the religion, the clergy, and Shia thoughts, he explained.

The revolutionary forces now have an important obligation to safeguard Imam’s ideals, he added.
