Moscow readying to support Russia soccer team in match with Spain
Moscow, June 26 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow is readying to support the
Russian national football team at the European Championship where it will play against Spain in a half-final match on Thursday.
Representatives of several major sport bars of the Russian capital
told Itar-Tass that seats there for Thursday night "had been totally
reserved on Monday." "We have even set up several additional tables to
satisfy the clients' demand somehow," said an administrator of a bar
located in Malaya Bronnaya Street. Moreover, some Moscow cafes and
restaurants, which usually to not show live television broadcasts of sport
events had in advance prepared for Thursday's game and bough huge plasma
display panels to show the match from Austria for all who want to watch it.
Those who are preparing for travel on Thursday night will also not
miss the breathtaking sport event. Airports of the Russian capital have
also prepared large monitors to show the live TV broadcast of the match.
Domodedovo airport spokesman Eldar Tuzmukhametov said, "From 22:30, Moscow
time, the game will be broadcast live in all zones of the airport terminal
- in the check-in sector, sectors of departures and arrivals of the
domestic and international air routes."
Officials at the press services of Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports
also confirmed that monitors have already been installed there, and the
television broadcast from Austria will not impede announcements of
departures and arrivals of planes by the public address system.
Personnel of the city's railway terminals have also decided to provide
the opportunity to passengers at waiting rooms and service centres to
watch the television broadcast of the match. It is an interesting fact
that ahead of the match of the Russian team in the quarterfinal the demand
for portable radio receiving sets that can tune in to the sound of TV
channels increased at railway terminals.
Even during a flight at an altitude of several thousand metres
football fans will not be left without information about the match
results. Thanks to the Aeroflot flight control centre, passengers of all
flights of this air carrier will be able to learn the news from the
Euro-2008 stadium from pilots in an on-line regime.
