Iran hopes Bushehr plant would be operational by spring
TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (MNA) -- Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Ali-Akbar Salehi has expressed hope that the Bushehr nuclear power plant would be fully operational by the coming spring.
The start-up of the Bushehr plant, will make Iran along with Pakistan as the only two countries in the Muslim world with nuclear power plants, the nuclear chief said in a scientific conference in Yazd on Wednesday.
The enemies are well aware of the fact that fossil fuel reserves will be depleted in the next forty or fifty years and that is why they have been trying to hinder “our efforts” to obtain other alternative sources of energy such as nuclear energy, the trained physicist noted.
He also visited a number of uranium exploration and extraction sites in Yazd province.
In addition, Salehi opened an AEOI office in Yazd Province.
