Over 3000 Volkswagen cars to service Sochi Olympics - Korzekwa.

VANCOUVER, February 28 (Itar-Tass) -- More than 3,000 motor cars of 12
Volkswagen brands will serve the Sochi Olympic Games in 29014, the
Volkswagen Group Rus director general, Dietmar Korzekwa, told a news
conference here on Sunday.

According to Korzekwa, the bulk of cars will be Tiguan models of the
Kaluga assembly. The first 40 cars will be supplied to the Sochi 2014
organizing committee already this May, and another 60 - by the end of the
year, he said.
In all, Volkswagen will supply more than 3,000 cars of various models
by 2014. Moreover, the car maker will also provide training for drivers
who will operate these cars during the Sochi 2014 Games, Korzekwa said and
added that Volkswagen will also supply cars for the disabled.
In his words, after the Olympic Games all the vehicles will be offered
for sale under a special program.
Korzekwa drew attention of the journalists to the Tiguan car displayed
at the Sochi 2014 Russian House in Vancouver. The white car's motor hood
bore signatures of Russian Olympic medallists. After the Vancouver Games
are over, the motor hood will be dismantled, treated with a special
solution and sent to Kaluga, where it will be installed in a similar car,
Korzerwa noted. This car and other Volkswagen vehicles bearing Olympic
symbols will then tour 30 Russian cities.
Audi and Skoda motor vehicles will also be used in servicing the Sochi
Olympics on similar terms.
