Video shooting banned at some polling stations in Tajikistan.

DUSHANBE, February 28 (Itar-Tass) -- The Party of Islamic Revival of
Tajikistan reported violations of observer rights in Sunday elections to
the national lower parliament house, a source in the party headquarters
told Itar-Tass.

According to the source, heads of a number of polling stations in
Dushanbe, Khudzhand and other cities banned video shooting of the voting
process.
"The purpose of video shooting is to record the voting procedure and
the number of voters who cast their votes at each polling station where
our party candidates are voted upon," said the party leader, Mukhiddin
Kabiri. According to Kabiri, every violation will be reported to the
Central Election Commission (CEC).
A CEC high-ranking official, Mukhibullo Dadadzhanov, acknowledged
video shooting bans, saying "people with cameras a hindering the voting
process" since "in the morning polling stations are overcrowded and there
is no room enough." He said that as soon as 'rush hour' was over, all
observers would be free to shoot the voting.
Similar complaints came to the Central Election Committee from the
Social Democratic Party. No claims were reported from other parties.
First voter turnout results will be announced at 10:00 a.m. local time
(10:00 Moscow time). A total of 530 foreign observers monitor the voting
procedure.
