JAPAN TO ASSIST IN QUAKE MANAGEMENT
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar Mayor has received Japanese Ambassador to Mongolia Takuo Kidokoro and exchanged opinions on biltateral cooperation and future trends.
At the meeting, Mr Munkhbayar appreciated outcomes of cooperation and economic assistance of Japan's Government to Mongolia. He briefed about some biggest projects being developed for promoting the capital city in 2010.
"Starting March 29, a construction will begin of a flyover, the very first one of its kind in Ulaanbaatar. We are talking with JICA to train some professionals in Japan in the field of road, construction engineering and quake management," the Mayor said.
In turn, the Ambassador said it is possible to involve Mongolian professionals in re-training sessions in Japan. The Ambassador asked to provide him with detailed information on how many professionals are to study and in which professions and specializations. He said the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia has requested an assistance in earthquake management. "We hope that there will be an opportunity to organize training sessions and conduct the biggest survey in Mongolia after inviting top level professionals from one of the Japanese prefectures and cities," he said.
