Hegemonic powers seeking to sully the image of Islam: Leader

TEHRAN, March 3 (MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the hegemonistic powers are making efforts to sully the image of Islam.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in Tehran on Tuesday during a meeting with the culture and Islamic guidance minister, the director of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, and Iranian cultural attachés based in foreign countries.
The arrogant powers are trying to give people the impression that Islam is either a dogmatic religion or a liberal useless faith, Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
However, the real Islam has great and deep conceptions of man, God, the afterlife, and the physical and spiritual needs of human beings, he added.
He went on to say that Iran’s cultural attachés are responsible for presenting a true and clear picture of the Islamic Republic, introducing Iran’s great civilization and culture, and promoting the Persian language and literature.
This is the only way to prevent the arrogant powers from attaining their inhumane goals, namely, sullying the image of the Islamic Republic and culturally isolating Iran, he observed.
