Iranian dubber disapproves of recent animation dubbings in Iran

TEHRAN, March 3 (MNA) -- Iranian veteran film dubber Khosro Khosroshahi criticized recent animation dubbings in which improper words are used.

“Dubbing is regarded as an expensive process anywhere in the world in which a team of leading actors lend their voices to major characters in animations.

“But unfortunately here, the animations found in home video collections bear improper words and even some different accents are used for the voices of animal characters which I believe is not right,” he added.

“A group of youths gather and dub animations using inexpensive, low quality methods. Some of the work they do is with bootleg copies of onscreen foreign films. There needs to be some control placed over this,” he remarked.

“I have dubbed major characters in some of the works like “Lucky Luke”, “Robin Hood” and “101 Dalmatians”, and made my best efforts to do a quality job. I hope the youth will make their best efforts as well,” he said.

Khosroshahi has lent his voice to major characters like Alain Delon, Al Pacino, Kevin Costner, Steve Mcqueen, Robert Redford and Amitabh Bachchan.
