SPIRITUAL GURU, SOUTH INDIAN ACTRESS CAUGHT IN SEX TAPE

CHENNAI, March 4 (Bernama) -- A high-flying Indian spiritual guru who has a strong following in India, Malaysia and the United States, is embroiled in a sex scandal with a top South Indian actress.

The sensational news is raging throughout South India after an undated video
was leaked to media houses in Chennai, in which the 32-year-old guru was caught
in the act with the actress.

The leading Tamil Nadu-based Sun News channel aired the expose Tuesday night
but did not reveal the identity of the actress whose face was masked.

Tamil vernacular newspapers hinted the woman caught in the sex romp was the
daughter of another prominent South Indian Tamil actress.

Tamil magazines and daily newspapers which published the story were sold out
in
Chennai Wednesday.

In the famous Burma Bazaar in Chennai, vendors selling the CDs enjoyed brisk
business, with Tamil newspapers reporting they were sold out Wednesday.

According to the news channel, the swamiji, who has ashrams in several
parts of Tamil Nadu and Bangalore, was believed to be involved in a clandestine
affair with the actress.

The swamiji is reported to be in America now and expected to return to India
soon. The actress is currently acting in a Tamil serial.

In several parts of Tamil Nadu, protestors vandalised the guru's ashram and
shoed his pictures and posters to vent their anger.
