VENEZUELAN AMBASSADOR TO MALAYSIA CALLS ON RAIS AT HIS OFFICE

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 (Bernama) -- Information Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim Thursday received a courtesy call by Venezuelan Ambassador to Malaysia, Manuel Guzman, at his office in Wisma Angkasapuri here.

Wisma Angkasapuri is the main governmental building for Malaysia's Ministry
of Information and it is also the headquarters for Radio Television Malaysia
(RTM), a Malaysian state-owned public broadcaster.

During the hour-long meeting, both leaders exchanged views on their
respective culture and tradition.

The meeting is also expected to lay the foundation for a more cordial
bilateral cooperation between both countries, to successfully carry out
traditional and cultural activities, through an agreement that is expected to be
sealed by April.

Rais was also invited by Guzman to attend a Venezuelan cultural week to be
organised in Universiti Malaya and LimKokWing University of Creative Technology,
next month.

Speaking of the meeting later, Guzman said Malaysia was ready to offer
support to ensure the success of the festival.

"This meeting was very positive and the minister has expressed his best
wishes and to work together and give full cooperation," said Guzman.
