Iran's cleric calls Rigi arrest a gift from God
TEHRAN, March 6 (MNA) -- The Tehran Friday prayers leader has called the arrest of Jundullah terrorist group leader Abdolmalek Rigi a gift from God.
The arrest of the leader of the terrorist group has proven that certain countries’ efforts to harm Iran are futile, Hojjatoleslam Kazem Sediqi told worshipers in Tehran on Friday.
Those countries should learn a lesson, he added.
Certain major powers recruited Rigi, and their intelligence agencies provided him and his terrorist group tactical, military, and intelligence support to commit crimes in Iran and the entire region, but the Iranian security forces captured him without any bloodshed, he noted.
Sediqi criticized the U.S. policy toward the region, saying the capture of the Jundullah leader dealt a serious blow to the U.S. and British intelligence agencies.
He also censured Western media outlets for fanning the flames of soft war in Iran and added that they all lost face after Rigi’s arrest.
Sediqi said some regional countries also supported the Jundullah terrorist group in the past and warned them not to plot against Iran in the future.
