INFECTIOUS DISEASE DECREASES
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ In the first two months 2010, the 4.9 thousand persons suffered from various infectious diseases and it is a decrease by 974 cases or 16.6 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
The number of persons suffered from tuberculosis were increased by 2.2 percent or 13 persons. In February of 2010, the total number of confirmed cases of a pandemic of a novel strain of the influenza A/H1N1 virus was 72. Out of total cases, 20 cases or 27.8 percent recorded in Ulaanbaatar city and 72.2 percent or 52 was in countryside, namely in Uvurkhangai was 17 or 23.6 percent, in Orkhon 9 or 12.5 percent, in Sukhbaatar, Selenge 6.9 percent or 5, respectively.
Four cases or 5.6 percent recorded in Dornogovi, Umnugovi aimags, 2 cases or 2.8 percent in Darkhan-Uul and Dundgobi aimags, and one case or 1.4 percent recorded in each of Darkhan-Uul,Tuv, Khovd, Khuvsgul aimags. In February of 2010, one case of death caused by this virus recorded in Selenge aimag.
As of the first 2 months of 2010, 2 cases of HIV/AIDS were newly recorded and total 65 cases of HIV/AIDS have recorded nationwide.
