PRIME MINISTER MEETS OSCE SECRETARY-GENERAL
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Premier of Mongolia met Tuesday with Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, the Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria.
Introducing to the Prime Minister activities of the OSCE, Brichambaut mentioned that in the economic sector, their organization is paying a great attention to the transit transportation between Asia and Europe, and pointed out that this issue may be a useful direction for landlocked Mongolia which faces various difficulties in exporting products to Europe.
The Prime Minister emphasized that a road through Mongolian territory will be one of the nearest ways to Europe. He underlined Mongolia plans to develop active cooperation with the OSCE in developing the transit transportation between Asia and Europe and to send its representatives to upcoming economic and environmental forum of the OSCE to discuss this issue. The forum will be held May 24-26, 2010, in Prague, the Czech Republic.
Batbold proposed to include the transit transportation issue in the agendas of a regular conference of the OSCE and its Asian partners which is to take place the next year in Mongolia.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Austria K.Abdurakhmanov, who represents his country in the OSCE in 2010, underlined a success of an expert level seminar on combating human trafficking co-organized by Mongolia and the OSCE in February 2010.
Thus, a development of the cooperation between Mongolia and the OSCE in Asia-Europe transit transportation will promote Mongolia in tackling problems together with European countries about its penetration into the European market.
