Iran calls Germany’s arrest of PJAK leader a sham

TEHRAN, March 10 (MNA) – Iran on Tuesday described the arrest of PJAK terrorist leader Abdolrahman Haji Ahmadi in Germany as a sham since the terrorist ringleader was allowed to go free.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Europe has turned into a safe haven for terrorist groups.
There is a lot of evidence showing that European countries have taken no concrete measures against terrorists, he stated.
He went on to say that the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization was removed from the terrorist list by certain European nations.
The official also said the Jundullah terrorist leader Abdolmalek Rigi and his sympathizers have been enjoying support from Western intelligence agencies.
Granting political asylum to Iranian dissidents will be ineffective
It is illegal, unfriendly and improper that certain Western countries grant political asylum to Iranian dissidents who act against the Islamic system, Mehmanparast said in response to a report that certain Western countries like Germany have announced they would grant political asylum to Iranian political dissidents if they apply.
It has happened many times that some Iranians sought political asylum while their cases were fabricated, the spokesman told a regular news briefing.
He went on to say that Western countries want to create an impression that some Iranians are turning to the West for help.
No Umrah pilgrimage until Saudis rectify behavior
Mehmanparast said that Umrah pilgrimage will not resume unless Saudis rectify their disrespectful behavior toward Iranian pilgrims.
When Iran becomes confident that its nationals - who visit Mecca and Medina as pilgrims – are treated respectfully in Saudi Arabia, the Umrah pilgrimages will be taken up, he noted.
Iran has not yet received official proposal on nuclear fuel
So far, Iran has not received any official proposal offering the country 20 percent enriched nuclear fuel for the Tehran nuclear research reactor that produces medical isotopes, Mehmanparast said.
“The International Atomic Energy Agency has sent a letter to certain countries again but (we) have not yet received any response officially,” he stated.
Iran expects China not to bow to Western pressure
Mehmanparast said Tehran expects Beijing not to give in to pressure by the United States and its allies, which are seeking new sanctions against Iran for its nuclear program.
Washington and other Western powers want China to approve the proposed UN resolution imposing new sanctions on Iran.
China, as a great country, can decide independently regardless of pressures by the U.S. and Israel, he stated.
China’s foreign minister said on Sunday that new sanctions on Iran would not solve the nuclear standoff between Tehran and the West.
