Leader urges preservation of natural resources
TEHRAN, March 10 (MNA) – The Supreme Leader of the Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on officials to try to conserve natural resources and prevent a waste or damage of woodlands and ranges.
To mark the national Natural Resources Week, Ayatollah Khamenei also planted two saplings and watered plants. The Leader said “trees and plants are the symbols of life.”
“This treeplanting ceremony is a symbolic event to encourage the lively young and respectable people to become accustomed to planting trees,” he noted.
Forests and ranges should be highly valued and if these natural resources are used wisely, they will last forever because these are renewable resources, he added.
