RF govt ready to support Russia-India high-tech coop-PM.
NEW DELHI, March 12 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian government is ready to
directly support Russian-Indian cooperation in the sphere of high
technologies, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said during an
Internet-conference with representatives of the Indian public on Friday.
"Cooperation in high technologies is a priority for Russia and India.
The Russian government is ready to directly support this activity, and if
necessary, with the help of additional financial means," he said.
As an example of development of cooperation in this field, Putin cited
the creation of the GLONASS system. "The use of such systems is versatile
and effective," he stressed. According to him, Russia and India have
mutual will at the governmental level to develop cooperation in this
field. At the same time, Vladimir added that the countries need support of
investment companies of both sides.
"Till now we cooperated in the traditional sphere of trade. Indian
partners and I believe that this is not enough. We should turn to
cooperation in the highly technological field," the Russian prime minister
said.
