Russia, India consider project of n-fuel production plant in India.

NEW DELHI, March 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia and India are considering a
project to launch an enterprise for the nuclear fuel production in India,
chief of the Rosatom state corporation Sergei Kiriyenko said on Friday.

"We are considering a project to launch a plant for the nuclear fuel
production in India," he said. According to him, real prerequisites will
be provided to solve a pressing problem of fuel shortage that is constant
in India.
Russia has been cooperating with India in this issue for a long time.
Russia supplied the fuel for the Tarapur nuclear power plant that allowed
avoiding a crisis situation in India. Russia has already made the fuel
supplies required from the loading and start-up of two power units with
the capacity of 1,000 MW each under construction at the Kudankulam nuclear
power plant in southern India.
